Last Update hace 9 meses

While eComverter comes with a branded subdomain you can use right out of the box (yoursite.ecomverter.com),

you also have the ability to set up and use a fully custom domain name with the software.

Using a custom domain can provide some additional benefits like:

  • - Better brand cohesion and professionalism.

  • - Improved marketing and tracking capabilities.

  • - Enhanced security and data control.

This article will explain:

  • What custom domains are

  • Why you may want to use one with eComverter,

  • and how to set up and configure a custom domain within your account.

What Are Custom Domains?

A custom domain is simply using your own web address (e.g. www.yourbusiness.com) rather than one provided by a software service like eComverter's default subdomain.

When someone visits that custom domain URL, it gets pointed and directed to load the particular software or site content you have hosted there behind-the-scenes.

For example, instead of using the default econverter.yourbusiness.com, you could have a custom domain like popup.yourbusiness.com or marketing.yourbusiness.com that loads your eComverter campaigns and tools.

Using a custom domain gives you more flexibility and customized branding around how people access and interact with your eComverter installation.

Benefits of Using Custom Domains

There are several potential advantages to implementing a custom domain with eComverter:

Brand Consistency

Custom domains reinforce your primary business identity rather than introducing a separate branded subdomain. This lends more credibility.

Customization

With custom domains, you get to choose exactly what the domain looks like and how it resonates with your specific branding.

Data Governance

You have more control and direct ownership over data and analytics when using a custom domain you control.

Security

Custom domains make it harder for campaigns/data to be unwittingly blocked by ad blockers, plug-ins, etc. since they aren't on an easily identifiable branded domain.

Tracking Capabilities

Having a custom domain opens up more advanced tracking integrations through channels like email campaigns and affiliate promotions.

How to Set Up a Custom Domain On eComverter

Within your eComverter dashboard, you can easily set up and configure a custom domain under the Domains and section of the YOUR ACCOUNT area.

1. Click 'Add Custom Domain' and enter the base domain you'd like to use (e.g. popups.yourbusiness.com)

2. Verify you have access to modify DNS settings for that domain.

3. Follow the guided setup to update DNS records and CNAME

The eComverter setup wizard provides code snippets and video tutorials to walk you through properly configuring DNS with your domain provider.

After verifying ownership, you'll be able to start using that new custom domain immediately with full HTTPS SSL support.

Brand and Customize Custom Domains

Once set up, you can fully brand and customize the appearance of eComverter when accessed through your custom domains.

1. Upload your company logo.

2. Specify color schemes

3. Add custom favicon icons

4. Set up domain aliases

This allows you to present eComverter as an integrated, co-branded experience rather than hosted on a separate third-party site.

You can also configure security and access settings for each custom domain.

For example, restricting access by IP whitelists or requiring login credentials.

If using eComverter for client services, custom domains allow you to provide a fully white-labeled solution for each client under their unique branding.

Overall, custom domains are a powerful way to enhance the professionalism and cohesion of your eComverter installation while unlocking more customization and integration capabilities. eComverter's guided set up makes it straightforward to get started.
